Patient Transfer Sliding Scales

Earlier this year, in partnership with Marlborough Equipment Trust, we provided Patient Transfer Sliding Scales to Wairau and Nelson Hospitals.

Accurate patient weight is essential for administering medication and treatment correctly, yet for immobile patients, hoist scales are often the only option available which can be impractical, stressful, and challenging to use. In such cases, weight may need to be estimated, which can affect medication accuracy.

The Patient Transfer Sliding Scale eliminates the need for estimates, allowing immobile patients to be weighed accurately in seconds. With the scale integrated into the transfer board, weighing becomes a seamless part of the patient transfer process, providing greater dignity for patients and reducing lifting for hospital staff.
