Cultural Conversations: Global Stitch Up

Cultural Conversations is a community arts hub in Nelson that offers a warm, inclusive space where migrants and former refugees can connect through music, art, and storytelling.

Among their many initiatives is the Global Stitch Up, a weekly sewing hub that brings together women from diverse backgrounds, fostering friendships and connections.

The Care Foundation is proud to support the Global Stitch Up by funding access to women-only swimming sessions at Riverside Pool and facilitating female wellbeing workshops. These sessions enhance the wellbeing and mental health of participants, reduce isolation, and support newcomers as they find a sense of belonging within our community.
